Assembler

About This Role

This entry-level role involves assembling various components for marine products, including decking, fencing, seating, consoles, and wiring. It suits a candidate who is committed to safety, quality, and teamwork, and is eager to learn and apply new skills in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Work safely at all times and report all hazards to the supervisor immediately
• Understand and follow Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions, and Engineering Prints
• Visually inspect and/or audit units for quality
• Discuss quality issues with lead or supervisor to resolve problems
• Use a variety of electric and pneumatic hand tools
• Seek positive solutions to issues and problems
• Complete work within takt time
• Keep work area clean and organized
• Maintain a high standard of conduct and comply with company policies and procedures
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment where designated, including safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, sleeves, etc.
• Flexible to work extended hours to support the requirements of the business
• Experience using basic hand and small power tools including drill, saws, sanders, measuring tape, level, etc.
• Ability to read a blueprint
• Ability to communicate and work in a team environment
• Demonstrate basic computer skills

Important Details

• Working Conditions: Frequently standing and lifting heavy objects weighing 50 to 100 pounds; constantly walking, pushing/pulling, reaching, and climbing stairs; occasionally squatting, kneeling, and using fine hand movements such as tightening screws, bolts, and securing pins. Specific vision requirements include close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust.
