This is a temp-to-hire opportunity with potential for permanent placement. This job number is for temporary employees working on an assignment with Goodwill Staffing.
JOB SUMMARY:
An asphalt worker is a construction professional who builds and maintains roads, driveways, and other paved surfaces by laying, spreading, and compacting asphalt materials to ensure a smooth, durable finish.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Perform asphalt paving, patching, and repair work on roads, parking lots, and surfaces
- Operate paving equipment, rollers, skid steers, and other heavy machinery
- Rake, spread, and smooth asphalt to proper grade and finish
- Assist with site prep including grading, leveling, and compaction
- Follow project plans, blueprints, and grade stakes
- Ensure proper temperature handling and application of asphalt materials
- Maintain tools and equipment in working condition
- Follow all OSHA and jobsite safety standards

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:
- High School Diploma or GED
Experience:
- 3-5 years of relevant experience
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Strong physical stamina and strength (lifting, bending, standing for long periods)
- Knowledge of basic construction tools and equipment
- Good teamwork and communication skills
- Ability to follow safety regulations and instructions
- Entry-level roles may require no experience (on-the-job training provided), to 1 year minimum experience required
- Experience in construction, road work, or paving is often preferred
Other:
- Outdoor construction environment
- Weather exposure (heat, cold, dust)
- Physically demanding role:
- Standing, bending, lifting 75+ lbs
- Long hours on active job sites
