About This Role
This night-shift post on the cardiac ward pairs patient care with mentoring new nurses.
Responsibilities
- Formulate and present a distinctive artistic vision, visible in program choices, positioning, and public engagement; elaborate this vision as a substantive basis, starting with the Arts Plan 2029–2032
- Program and schedule: choose, question, and dare to let go. Set long-term goals, work on (new) multi-year collaborations, and dare to make and uphold radical choices. Connect Theater De Krakeling with the city in its full diversity: from within the Ring to the edges of the metropolis, and even beyond; from neighborhood programming to international guest performances
- Develop talent: bring in new makers, offer them a stage, and build multi-year connections. Also recognize talent within the organization and offer development opportunities
- Visibly engage with the translation of the artistic direction into marketing and communication; be visible and approachable in the workplace. Be a team player
- Together with the General Director - Manager, represent Theater De Krakeling externally in the cultural field, towards funds, fellow institutions, and the municipality
- Work in a dual management structure with the General Director - Manager towards a healthy, professional, and financially sustainable organization
Requirements
- A strong, unique artistic signature, demonstrable in previous work, choices, and public position
- A strong artistic and cultural network, both in Amsterdam and beyond, which you know how to utilize and further expand
- Proven leadership experience at a comparable level of responsibility and visibility; this does not necessarily have to have been in a final position as director-manager
- Affinity with children and young people as a full-fledged audience and imagination as a core value. This is a requirement
- Strong urban sensitivity; you can artistically translate the diverse Amsterdam reality
- Financial literacy; you are able to bear responsibility for a healthy organization together with the General Director - Manager
- Ability to think institutionally without compromising artistic sharpness
- You are able to write convincing vision texts for funds and other stakeholders
- You are a trendsetter, not a trend follower. You have the courage and insight to set the agenda instead of reacting
- You are unifying in making choices and steadfast in implementing them
- You dare to make choices and stand by them publicly and internally
- You are imperturbable under pressure; you allow pressure without losing sight of your surroundings
- You are demonstrably comfortable in an equal dual management structure; mutual professional respect and shared ownership are self-evident to you
