About This Role
This role involves delivering high-quality teaching and learning in Art and Drama across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the ability to teach Music considered an advantage. The position is for a qualified teacher to join a growing specialist autism school for pupils aged 7-16, playing a key role in shaping provision for autistic pupils. It suits an outstanding relationship builder with the knowledge and skills to inspire exceptional outcomes and maintain a positive, supportive, and enthusiastic learning environment.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging Art (Drama and Music) lessons across KS3 and 4
- Adapt teaching to meet the diverse needs of pupils, including autistic pupils and those with additional special educational needs
- Assess, monitor, and track pupil progress, providing regular feedback and adapting teaching accordingly
- Maintain high expectations for behavior, engagement, and learning in line with school procedures
- Contribute to curriculum development and enrichment opportunities
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and other professionals to support positive outcomes for pupils
Requirements
- Hold UK QTS
- Have significant classroom experience up to KS4
- Have strong knowledge of the curriculum and high expectations for all pupils
- Have an understanding of adaptive and inclusive teaching approaches
- Be willing to participate in ongoing professional development
- Have a passion for education and inspiring young people
- Have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues

Important Details
- Start date: ideally January 2027, though applications from candidates available after the February half term will be considered
