About This Role
This architectural drafter role transforms design concepts into precise technical drawings and detailed plans, guiding construction projects from start to finish. The position supports architects, engineers, and construction teams by creating accurate schematics and CAD models, contributing to projects across diverse sectors.
Responsibilities
- Develop detailed 2D and 3D drawings using CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, ArchiCAD, MicroStation, or other software to accurately represent architectural designs
- Create schematic diagrams, construction documents, interior layouts, mechanical systems, and system design schematics that meet project specifications
- Utilize visualization tools like SketchUp, Grasshopper 3D, and 3ds Max to produce realistic renderings and animations for client presentations
- Collaborate closely with architects and engineers to interpret design concepts into precise technical drawings while adhering to building codes and industry standards
- Prepare detailed drafting documentation for construction teams, including specifications for materials, dimensions, and assembly instructions
- Conduct quality checks on drawings for accuracy, consistency, and compliance with project requirements before submission
- Support project management by organizing files, maintaining version control, and updating drawings as needed throughout the project lifecycle
Requirements
- Proven experience with CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, ArchiCAD, MicroStation
- Strong knowledge of drafting standards, schematics creation, construction documentation, and graphic design principles
- Skilled in system design including mechanical systems and interior layouts
- Ability to interpret architectural plans and specifications accurately while collaborating effectively within multidisciplinary teams
- Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills for managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Knowledge of building codes, construction processes, and material specifications to ensure compliant designs
Nice to have:
- Familiarity with SketchUp and Grasshopper 3D
- Experience with 2D animation or graphic visualization
- Background in interior design or mechanical design
- Familiarity with Revit or MicroStation
