About This Role
An Architectural Drafter transforms conceptual ideas into precise technical drawings and detailed construction documents, bringing architectural visions to life. This role involves creating accurate schematics, construction details, and 3D models that meet project specifications and building code requirements, offering an exciting opportunity to contribute to diverse architectural projects.
Responsibilities
- Develop detailed architectural drawings, schematics, and construction documentation using CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar programs
- Create accurate 3D models and visualizations utilizing tools like SketchUp, 3ds Max, Rhino 3D (Rhinoceros 3D), Grasshopper 3D, and other 3D CAD modeling software
- Collaborate with architects and engineers to produce system designs, interior layouts, mechanical details, and graphic presentations that align with project goals
- Conduct Florida building code analysis to ensure designs comply with local regulations and standards for safety and sustainability
- Assist in developing construction details that facilitate efficient building processes and high-quality outcomes
- Prepare comprehensive documentation for construction projects including system design schematics, engineering CAD designs, and BIM models
- Support the review of design drafts for accuracy, consistency, and adherence to client specifications while incorporating feedback for continuous improvement
Requirements
- Proven experience in architectural drafting or a related field with a strong portfolio demonstrating proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit
- Hands-on experience with building information modeling (BIM) tools for creating coordinated 3D models and construction documentation
- Familiarity with construction detail documentation and understanding of Florida building code compliance is essential
- Knowledge of system design including mechanical systems or interior layouts is a plus
- Prior experience in engineering CAD design or mechanical design enhances your ability to contribute effectively
- Strong skills in graphic design, 2D drafting, schematic development, and technical illustration are highly valued
- Ability to interpret architectural plans into precise drawings while maintaining attention to detail across multiple projects
