About This Role
An Architectural Designer with a valid license and at least four years of experience will create and develop architectural designs, focusing on low-cost housing projects. This role involves producing detailed construction drawings, 3D models, and visual presentations while ensuring designs are practical, cost-efficient, and meet project deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Develop architectural concepts, space plans, layouts, elevations, sections, and construction details for housing projects and related facilities
- Prepare complete architectural drawing packages using AutoCAD and Revit for presentations, permit applications, bidding, and construction
- Create detailed SketchUp models and produce architectural renderings using rendering software
- Design functional low-cost housing units, considering space utilization, natural lighting, ventilation, durability, and ease of construction
- Develop standard housing models and adapt designs to different lot sizes, site conditions, and project requirements
- Coordinate architectural drawings and models with structural, civil, electrical, mechanical, plumbing and sanitary, and fire protection designs
- Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, consistency, and compliance with applicable regulations and project standards
- Prepare material specifications and finish schedules and assist with quantity takeoffs and cost reviews
- Propose design and material alternatives to improve affordability while maintaining quality and functionality
- Conduct site visits, respond to technical queries, and resolve design issues with the project team
- Review shop drawings, material samples, and as-built drawings for alignment with the approved architectural design
- Maintain organized drawing files, models, revision records, and project documentation
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture
- Licensed Architect with a valid professional license
- At least 4 years of experience in architectural design and drawing production
- Demonstrated experience in low-cost or affordable housing design
- Proficiency in both AutoCAD and Revit, including architectural modeling, detailing, and construction drawing production
- Proficiency in SketchUp modeling for design development and presentation
- Proficiency in at least one architectural rendering program, with the ability to produce high-quality exterior and interior visualizations
- Ability to prepare detailed, coordinated construction drawings with minimal supervision
- Knowledge of residential space planning, construction methods, materials, and applicable building and housing regulations
- Strong attention to detail, design judgment, and problem-solving skills
