About This Role
As an Architectural Designer, you will work collaboratively with team members to ensure that designs are developed in accordance with relevant codes and standards. This role offers an exciting opportunity to engage in a variety of high-profile projects throughout the region, while meeting quality control objectives within designated schedules and budgets.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate with owners, contractors, and engineers from the initial planning stages through final construction.
- Determine design criteria using relevant codes and standards.
- Develop contract documents, including construction drawings and technical specifications.
- Produce schematic and detailed designs and evaluate planning and concept alternatives.
- Coordinate building department and other government agency application paperwork and filing.
- Review shop drawings and RFIs.
- Perform field inspections and write inspection reports.
Requirements
- Familiarity with the latest versions of AutoCAD, Revit, and Photoshop.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to effectively work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States.
Nice to have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture for entry-level candidates.
- Knowledge of blueprint reading.
- Master’s degree in Architecture for intermediate and advanced level candidates.
- 3+ years of related work experience in residential and commercial building for intermediate level candidates.
- Familiarity with NYC zoning, building, and energy codes.
- Capable of coordinating a complete set of construction documents for intermediate level candidates.
- 8+ years of related work experience in residential and commercial building for advanced level candidates.
- Capable of managing an entire project from initial planning to final Certificate of Occupancy for advanced level candidates.
- NYS RA License for advanced level candidates.
