About the role
Duties
In this position, you will serve as a CORE Architect in the Public Assistance Branch, where you will be responsible for addressing Architectural issues as they arise in the formulation of disaster project worksheets (PW).
Typical assignments can include:
- Performs architectural assignments and technical studies
- Prepares technical recommendations for PA leadership regarding Recovery programs using his/her Architectural expertise.
- Evaluates design objectives, performs technical calculations, identifies procedures, and provides professional advice to management
- Prepares analysis and evaluation of PWs and supporting documentation.

Education
You qualify for this position at the IC-13 level (starting salary $94,796) if you have 1 year equivalent to at least next lower grade level AND possess all of the following:
To qualify for this position, you must demonstrate specialized experience in the federal government, a state or local government, a non-profit organization, or the private sector, equivalent to one full year at the next lower grade level, the GS-12 level in federal service. One full year of specialized experience at the IC-12 level that demonstrates:
- Experience interpreting architectural standard practices, experimental theories and adapting to assessment techniques to determine accurate projection of costs to repair or replace damaged public infrastructure.
