About This Role
An apprentice plumber assists licensed plumbers in installing, maintaining, repairing, and replacing commercial plumbing systems. This position offers structured on-the-job training under experienced personnel, with the goal of developing into a qualified commercial service technician.
Responsibilities
- Assist plumbers with commercial plumbing repairs and installations
- Load, unload, organize, and transport tools and materials
- Learn proper installation techniques for piping, fixtures, valves, pumps, water heaters, and related equipment
- Assist with preventative maintenance activities
- Maintain clean and organized job sites
- Safely operate hand and power tools
- Assist with equipment startup and testing
- Complete required documentation within ServiceTitan under supervision
- Participate in daily Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs)
- Maintain assigned tools and equipment
- Attend company safety meetings and technical training
- Demonstrate continuous learning and professional development
- Maintain a professional appearance
- Be courteous and respectful to customers
- Protect customer property using drop cloths and floor protection
- Maintain clean work areas
- Follow directions provided by supervising technicians
- Represent Rise Mechanical Group professionally
- Follow the Rise Mechanical Group Safety Manual
- Wear required PPE at all times
- Participate in Job Hazard Analyses
- Report hazards immediately
- Exercise Stop Work Authority if unsafe conditions exist
- Perform proper housekeeping throughout the workday
- Assist with daily vehicle inspections when assigned
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid California Driver's License with acceptable driving record
- Ability to obtain and maintain required trade certifications
- Ability to work safely in commercial construction and service environments
- Ability to pass a standard background check
- Basic knowledge of plumbing systems and tools
- Ability to safely use hand and power tools
- Mechanical aptitude
- Ability to read tape measures and basic drawings
- Ability to learn ServiceTitan documentation
- Basic computer and smartphone proficiency
Nice to have:
- Enrollment in an apprenticeship program
- Previous construction experience
- OSHA 10 certification
