Apprentice Electrician

About This Role

An Apprentice Electrician supports Journeyman Electricians in installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems, while also assisting with material handling, prefabrication, and warehouse tasks. This position requires ongoing training through weekly classes and in-house instruction, with adherence to safety policies and a willingness to work flexible hours.

Responsibilities

• Comply with all company safety policies
• Work under the supervision of an assigned Journeyman electrician
• Install wiring, equipment, and fixtures, based on the direction of a Journeyman
• Repair or replace wiring, equipment, and fixtures using hand tools and power tools
• Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures using hand tools and power tools
• Perform warehouse duties and material handling as needed
• Perform pre-fab duties both on and off-site as needed
• Learn to follow blueprints to determine the location of wiring and equipment and to ensure conformance to building and safety codes
• Attend schooling 1 night a week and maintain passing grades
• Attend in-house training
• Be available to work overtime and/or irregular business hours as requested
• Perform other duties assigned

• Able to stand, walk, and sit for long periods
• Able to walk on uneven ground
• Manual dexterity for use of small hand and power tools
• Able to perform repetitive motions like squatting, bending, kneeling, reaching and lifting
• Frequently lift up to 50 lbs., occasionally lift up to 80lbs.
• Able to work safely from heights of up to 50 feet
• Occasional work in constricted spaces
• Good vision (either normal or corrected) and good balance
• Able to work outside in a range of weather conditions, including hot and cold weather
• Pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
