The APP is responsible for providing health care to patients in the hospital or office setting. Works in consultation, cooperation, and coordination through a collaborative physician. Functions according to the established standards and practices of medicine for Advanced Practice Nurse/Nurse Practitioner in the State of Texas.

- Master’s Degree
Minimum Work Experience
- No previous experience
Required Licenses/Certifications
- NP or PA licensed in the state of Texas
- BLS
Required Skills, Knowledge, And Abilities
- Knowledge of medical practices, terminology, and reimbursement policies
- Thorough knowledge of patient triage, diagnosis, and evidenced-based care
- Knowledge in overcoming barriers from diagnosis to treatment including: financial/economic, language/culture, transportation issues
- Skill in planning, organizing, delegating, and supervising
- Skill in evaluating the effectiveness of existing methods and procedures
- Skill in problem solving
- Skill in verbal and written communication
- Skill in speaking engagements and other activities that raise awareness to diseases and disease processes
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply policies and procedures
- Ability to set priorities among multiple requests
- Ability to interact with patients, medical and administrative staff, and the public effectively
