Anti-Money Laundering Analyst

About This Role

Identifying, researching, and analyzing complex financial crimes transactions and suspicious situations with moderate to high risk is the core of this role. The specialist conducts investigative research to determine liability and impact, mitigating financial losses and business interruptions. This position involves detailed analyses to detect transactional and relationship patterns, trends, anomalies, and schemes across multiple businesses and products.

Responsibilities

• Identify, research, and analyze complex financial crimes transactions and referrals, policy violations, and/or suspicious situations with moderate to high risk
• Conduct investigative research using appropriate investigative techniques to determine liability and impact of cases and mitigate financial losses and/or business interruptions
• Perform detailed analyses to detect transactional and relationship patterns, trends, anomalies, and schemes across multiple businesses/products
• Perform risk analysis and modeling to provide input and recommendations for financial crimes strategies and models
• Call and interview customers during the investigation process (training will be provided)
• Prepare documentation and refer cases for Suspicious Activity, Identity Theft Operations (ITO), and Suspected Financial Abuse
• Report to government agencies and make recommendations to senior management
• Identify and act on control failures in bank processes and procedures, customer, or team member decisions
• Develop and/or implement testing strategies and methodologies
• Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of policies, procedures, processes, and internal controls
• Conduct data and/or onsite reviews, analyze findings, determine risk level, and may recommend resulting fraud prevention strategies
• Draft corrective action plans and participate in change management
• Lead, participate in, and/or provide support for projects and initiatives
• Provide input to development and delivery of a wide range of team member education for financial crimes awareness
• Act as an escalation point for more complex cases
• Provide litigation support through support documentation/testimony case risk evaluation (reputational, credit, etc.)

Requirements

• 2+ years of Financial Crimes, Operational Risk, Fraud Investigations, Law Enforcement, Sanctions, Anti-Bribery, Corruption experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, law enforcement, military experience, education
• Highly proficient using Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Willing to work in an office setting while working at a desk for extended hours
• Technically proficient using a computer
