About The Role The Staff Android Engineer role at Capital One Canada offers an exciting opportunity for seasoned mobile developers to lead the design, development, and architecture of cross-platform application systems. This position requires a highly skilled professional with extensive hands-on experience in native Android application development using Java and Kotlin. Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess at least six years of hands-on experience developing native Android applications with Java and Kotlin, alongside a strong background in application and data design, architecture, and development. Proficiency with modern Android development tools and frameworks such as RxJava, Coroutines, Dagger, Espresso, Junit, and Jetpack Compose is essential. Experience providing mentorship to junior and intermediate developers, guiding technical decisions, and collaborating with stakeholders is highly valued. A bachelor's, master's, or diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related fields is preferred. Additional experience with cloud platforms like AWS, and familiarity with agile methodologies, will be advantageous.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the software development lifecycle, from planning to deployment and support.

- Mentor junior, intermediate, and senior mobile developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.
