Required Background: This position requires advanced analytical and quantitative skills with proven experience interpreting complex charts, scientific/statistical plots, and tabular datasets.
Overview:
We are seeking an AI Reasoning Analyst specializing in charts, visual data, and quantitative information to evaluate and train frontier multimodal AI models. In this role, you will design, solve, and annotate complex reasoning prompts based on visual data representations—such as heatmaps, multi-axis charts, scientific graphs, and raw datasets—ensuring AI models reason logically and compute accurately.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and create complex reasoning datasets pairing visual data (charts, graphs, plots, diagrams) with multi-step analytical solutions.
- Audit and rigorously fact-check AI-generated visual reasoning steps, mathematical derivations, and trend analyses.
- Identify hallucinations, misinterpretations of graphical axes/scales, and logical fallacies in model outputs.
- Write clear, step-by-step reasoning explanations (ground truth) for intricate visual-data questions.
Requirements:
- Degree in a quantitative, STEM, economics, data, or analytical field (e.g., Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Economics).
- Strong ability to read, interpret, and derive insights from complex visual formats (scatter plots, box plots, Sankey diagrams, contour plots, multi-variable tables).
- Prior experience in data analysis, scientific research, quantitative modeling, or AI model evaluation.
- Strong written English skills with a knack for breaking down complex quantitative logic into structured explanations.
- Must be currently based in and authorized to work in the United States or Canada.
