Analyst

About This Role

This role involves proactive and detail-oriented monitoring and support for IT infrastructure and application systems. The analyst will assess and escalate alerts and events, raise incidents, follow up on incidents, and coordinate with technical experts and users. The position requires shift work on a 24x365 rota.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, identify, and escalate batch failures as and when they occur
• Escalate or resolve tickets
• Perform system housekeeping, shutdown, and start in accordance with defined procedures and SLAs
• Monitor and manage incidents adhering to strict SLAs
• Complete daily check sheets and reporting
• Liaise with the support team and third parties
• Coordinate workload across the shift to ensure team performance in accordance with SLAs (for Senior Operation Analyst only)
• Provide SME guidance for other members of staff (for Senior Operation Analyst only)

Requirements

• First-line computer operations support experience in financial services
• Understanding of batch scheduling tools (Control-M, JP1)
• Unix and Windows first-level support experience
• AS400 experience or Mainframe experience
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, especially when under pressure
• Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Ability to work in an environment with evolving requirements and dynamic schedules
• Experience of using service management/incident management solutions (ideally ServiceNow)
• Confidence to work independently and within a fast-paced team in a busy environment
• 2-4 years of experience
