About This Role
This role is the revenue engine behind the company's growth, turning traffic, content, and attention into profitable results, with the largest part of the spend on Amazon, Walmart, and Chewy. You will own the marketplace media and report directly to the Chief Commercial Officer.
Responsibilities
- Own paid media across Amazon, Walmart, and Chewy
- Manage campaign architecture, targeting, bidding, and budget allocation across pet and human dental products
- Make weekly decisions about where to scale, where to cut, and why
- Be accountable for TACoS, ad-attributed contribution margin, and share of voice in core categories
- Build one dashboard with the CCO that the leadership team uses, incorporating Amazon Attribution, Brand Referral Bonus, and Amazon Marketing Cloud
- Separate what traffic is doing from what listings are doing, and provide data-driven answers
- Measure performance based on contribution, not platform-reported numbers
- Model and execute deals, coupons, and promotional events using real margin math
- Flag when a promotion is buying unwanted volume at an indefensible price
- Support Subscribe & Save performance and retention economics
- Help the team understand the impact of pricing or promotional decisions
- Partner with the marketing team on demand creation to ensure off-platform traffic converts
- Brief creative teams based on conversion data
- Turn successful strategies into better ads, listings, and decisions
- Use tools and platforms for efficient campaign management, performance analysis, and scalable testing
- Work across platforms like Amazon Ads, Chewy Ads, Walmart Connect, and affiliate tools
Requirements
- Personally run paid media at meaningful scale (platform experience less critical than ownership)
- Think in contribution margin, not platform-reported ROAS
- Understand that ad spend impacts the P&L, considering fees, returns, discounts, and promotional depth
- Build your own reporting, pulling and structuring data for decision-making
- Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills
- Taught yourself a channel before, figuring out new areas and making them work
Benefits
- Own the spend outright, with no agency layer or inherited campaign structure
- Report directly to the CCO and be involved in pricing, promotions, and launch decisions
- Work will be visible at the top of the company from week one
- Opportunity for growth as the function expands
