Airline Wheelchair Supervisor

About This Role

This Wheelchair Supervisor position oversees the wheelchair operation at an airport facility, ensuring all passengers requiring assistance are served in a manner that exceeds expectations. The role involves hands-on assistance, including pushing passengers in wheelchairs and helping with luggage, while maintaining a friendly and positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the wheelchair operation to ensure all passengers requiring assistance are served in a manner that exceeds expectations
• Push wheelchair passengers to and from gates
• Roll customer-occupied wheelchairs safely down the jet bridge
• Ensure wheel brakes are in place prior to allowing passengers to exit the wheelchair
• Complete any necessary wheelchair or incident reports
• Follow dispatcher gate orders
• Maintain a friendly and positive attitude and be attentive to each passenger’s individual needs, assisting with any problems, questions, or concerns
• Maintain professional working relationships with fellow employees, supervisors, managers, airline employees, and airport authorities
• Exceed customer service standards
• Carry out other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Be authorized to work in the United States
• Must be able to clear a background and drug screen
• At least one year of supervisory experience
• Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs and push a loaded wheelchair up to 300 lbs up and down inclines throughout the shift
• Strong verbal and written communication skills using appropriate grammar, tone, and pronunciation to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
• Complete all required training including airport compliance
• Able to obtain an airport badge
• Ability and availability to work weekends and holidays is a must

Nice to have:

• Previous 1-2+ years of customer service and supervisory experience
• Airline experience preferred
