Duties
The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the Air Reserve Technician (ART) Assistant Maintenance Group Commander to review policy and assist the Senior ART/Maintenance Group (MXG) Commander in all activities and operations of the Maintenance Group. The position is located at the AFRC, 482 Fighter Wing, 482 Maintenance Group, Homestead ARB, Florida. This position is part of the AFRC Maintenance Group Training Program.
Incumbent of this position will assist in performing the following duties:
- Plan, direct, organize, manage and provide oversight for activities in the Maintenance Group.
- Represent the Maintenance Group Commander at a variety of Installation and functional area organizational meetings.
- Ensure effective operation of the aircraft maintenance complex.
- Accomplishes special staff duties, projects and initiatives resulting from legislative and regulatory changes.
Qualifications
You must have one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or qualifying pay band under other pay systems in the Federal Service which has given you the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) as shown below required to successfully perform the duties of this position. Experience which provides a thorough knowledge of planning, organizing, coordinating, directing, and controlling the activities of an Aircraft Maintenance organization. (To be creditable, specialized experience must meet the above quality level requirements).
Knowledge, skills and abilities (KSAs): (1) Knowledge of aircraft maintenance management practices, procedures and organizational mission requirements. (2) Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures. (3) Ability to plan, organize, and communicate effectively both orally and in writing; negotiate complex issues; and maintain good working relationships. (4) Ability to analyze, plan, and adjust work operations of one or more organizational segments to meet program requirements and objectives within available resources.
