About the Opportunity
The AI Scientist role is focused on bridging applied research and production engineering to develop and deploy advanced machine learning systems that address significant business challenges. This position contributes by designing scalable, robust AI solutions and ensuring their effective integration into production environments, thereby driving impactful technological innovation within the organization.
Responsibilities
- Design and ship advanced machine learning systems for high-impact business problems.
- Apply scientific rigor alongside practical software engineering.
- Build robust, scalable, and well-instrumented production pipelines.
- Stay current with evolving AI research and evaluate new techniques for practical application.
- Manage the full lifecycle from problem framing and experimentation to deployment and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, or related field, or equivalent applied experience.
- Six or more years of combined research and applied machine learning engineering experience.
- Proficiency in Python and ML frameworks such as PyTorch or JAX.
- Experience training, fine-tuning, and evaluating deep learning models at scale.
- Strong foundation in mathematics, statistics, and theoretical aspects of modern ML.
- Experience transitioning ML models from prototype to production with necessary observability and safeguards.
- Familiarity with distributed training, mixed-precision training, and accelerator hardware.
- Strong communication skills for explaining complex methods.
- Ability to critically evaluate and adapt techniques from current research literature.
- Proven record of delivering impactful applied AI projects.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Published research in top-tier AI/ML venues.
- Experience with large language model training, fine-tuning, or evaluation.
- Knowledge of retrieval-augmented generation, agentic systems, or multimodal architectures.
- Exposure to responsible AI, model evaluation, and alignment practices.
- Contributions to open-source ML projects.
Pay Range and Compensation Package
- Salary: $100,000 annually.
