About the role

AI Implementation Lead - Global Investment Firm

Company Overview Our client is a leading alternative investment firm with a global presence across major financial centres in Asia Pacific, the Middle East, and other international markets. The firm focuses on private markets and credit-related investment strategies and continues to invest heavily in technology to enhance operational efficiency and business performance.

With strong executive sponsorship and a forward-thinking leadership team, the organisation is embarking on a firm-wide AI transformation initiative aimed at driving innovation across investment, operational, and corporate functions. The culture is collaborative, entrepreneurial, and focused on delivering measurable business outcomes through technology.

Role Overview The Head of AI Implementation will be responsible for leading and executing the firm's AI strategy, turning business challenges into practical AI-enabled solutions that drive measurable results. Reporting directly to senior leadership, this individual will own the AI roadmap, evaluate existing technology infrastructure, identify opportunities for automation and intelligence, and deliver solutions that enhance productivity across investment, operations, finance, legal, compliance, and investor-facing teams.

This is a highly hands-on role requiring a combination of AI strategy, solutions architecture, and engineering capability. The successful candidate will be expected to design and build solutions themselves, leveraging technologies such as Generative AI, LLMs, RAG frameworks, AI agents, workflow automation, and modern AI platforms. They will define architectures, segment business processes into AI-enabled workflows, evaluate third-party solutions where appropriate, and oversee the deployment and integration of AI capabilities across the business.

Initially, the focus will be on understanding the organisation, delivering early-stage AI solutions, and establishing scalable foundations for future growth. Over time, the role offers the opportunity to build and lead a dedicated AI engineering and technology function.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the execution of the firm's enterprise-wide AI strategy and implementation roadmap.
  • Assess existing systems, applications, and technology infrastructure to identify AI and automation opportunities.
  • Design, build, and deploy AI-powered workflows, tools, and agent-based solutions that improve operational efficiency and scalability.
  • Develop proof-of-concepts and production-ready solutions using LLMs, RAG architectures, AI agents, and automation platforms.
  • Work closely with investment, operations, finance, legal, compliance, and investor relations teams to understand requirements and deliver practical solutions.
  • Evaluate, select, and manage AI vendors, platforms, and implementation partners.
  • Oversee integration of AI solutions with existing systems and business processes.
  • Drive AI adoption through stakeholder engagement, training, and change management initiatives.
  • Establish governance, security, and best-practice frameworks for responsible AI deployment.
  • Advise senior leadership on emerging AI technologies and long-term strategic opportunities.

Key Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience across AI, software engineering, solutions architecture, technology consulting, or digital transformation.
  • Proven experience building and deploying AI solutions in commercial environments.
  • Strong engineering capabilities with experience across APIs, systems integration, workflow automation, and cloud-based technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with Generative AI, LLMs, AI agents, RAG frameworks, and enterprise AI platforms.
  • Ability to operate at both strategic and execution levels, from roadmap definition through to implementation.
  • Experience assessing business processes and translating them into scalable AI-enabled workflows and tools.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage senior leadership and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a willingness to operate independently in a fast-moving environment.
  • Proven track record delivering complex technology initiatives from concept through deployment.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
