About The Role As a Data Innovation Lab professional at AXA, you will be instrumental in driving the transformation of our insurance business through data and artificial intelligence. You will be part of the interdisciplinary "AI Business Capabilities" team within the Data Innovation Lab, focusing on transforming promising AI experiments into stable, production-ready systems. Your role involves collaborating closely with data scientists, software engineers, and business experts to develop innovative AI solutions that deliver tangible value to our core operations. You will oversee the deployment, monitoring, and optimization of in-house developed machine learning and AI applications, ensuring their reliable operation in a production environment. This position offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge AI and MLOps projects, contributing directly to the evolution of our digital insurance offerings and operational efficiency.

Qualifications To succeed in this role, you should possess strong programming skills in Python, with experience in frameworks such as FastAPI, Pydantic, Pydantic AI, Celery, Polars, PyTorch, and Transformers. A solid understanding of deploying and operating AI systems using tools like Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, and cloud platforms such as AWS is essential. Familiarity with MLOps and LLMOps practices, including monitoring and incident management with tools like Grafana and OTEL, is highly desirable. You should have experience in developing workflows based on large language models, including agent-based systems, prompting strategies, and tools like Mlflow and Langfuse. Knowledge of SQL and Typescript is beneficial. Additionally, a willingness to understand insurance processes and business contexts is important for tailoring AI solutions effectively. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to sustainable software development practices, including test-driven development, clean code, and thorough code reviews. Experience in project initiation from ideation to deployment, as well as the ability to navigate complex IT landscapes, will set you apart.

Responsibilities Your primary responsibilities will include supporting project teams in transitioning AI experiments into production environments, ensuring seamless integration and operational stability. You will design and implement reusable software components, services, and infrastructure by recognizing commonalities across different AI applications. Continuous learning about new topics and evolving IT landscapes will be crucial as you connect technical expertise with business understanding to develop practical solutions for operational units. You will operate, monitor, and optimize in-house AI and machine learning applications in production, managing performance tuning, incident response, and site reliability. Collaboration with cross-functional teams to improve deployment pipelines and system robustness will be a key aspect of your role. You will also contribute to establishing best practices in AI deployment and operational management, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the team.
