The Agtech Demo Day is a startup competition to promote and showcase the innovative proposals being developed by Argentine entrepreneurs who provide solutions to the agri-food chain by combining talent, innovation and technology to solve global problems such as food security and climate change, on the stage of a flagship congress for agriculture at the national and international level.
This call for applications is being made within the framework of the 32nd Aapresid Congress, which will take place from August 7th to 9th, 2024, at the La Rural Exhibition Center in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The Aapresid Congress is an internationally renowned event that has been connecting innovation, technology, and knowledge for over three decades with the aim of promoting increasingly sustainable production systems. Each year, it brings together leading national and international experts to discuss and promote forward-looking content of interest to the entire agri-food chain.
The following verticals will be considered under the umbrella of technological solutions for the agri-food chain:
- Agtech Solutions: Related to precision agriculture, environmental management, data management and information monitoring that allow for savings in inputs, increased efficiency and/or productivity levels and facilitate decision-making.
- Biotech Solutions: Related to genetic improvement, development of bio-inputs (biofungicides, bioherbicides, bioinsecticides, biostimulants), biological control, bioremediation, bioenergy, among others.
- Animaltech Solutions: Related to precision livestock farming, integrated into agricultural systems.
- Traceability and certification solutions: Related to the valuation of good practices, the carbon economy and ecosystem services.
- Climatech Solutions: Related to the efficient management of water for both intensive and extensive production, the protection of forest assets, etc.
- Agrifintech Solutions: Related to financial technology tools for producers and companies.
- Logistics solutions.
Admission Requirements
- Being a legally constituted startup (legal entity).
- Argentine Founders (at least 1).
- At least have an MVP.
- Range: Pre-seed up to and including Series A.
Prize
- Participation in the Digital Agriculture Week of the Americas (September 23-27, 2024) in San José, Costa Rica. This event is organized by the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA) and will bring together key players in the Agtech ecosystem of the Americas to address relevant issues related to digitalization.

- Mentoring with national and international experts.
