About the role
Description
St. Joseph School seeks a part-time lead preschool teacher for our growing preschool program. The teacher will work as a member of the preschool team and confer with the preschool director about instructional practice. The lead teacher will have a solid understanding of child development, develop an appropriate learning and social environment, and develop positive school community relationships. This part-time teacher will lead the preschool room in the afternoons and close the preschool each day, likely from 2:30 p.m.-6:00 p.m.
Qualifications
- Active, participating Catholic preferred
- Demonstrated ability to understand, evaluate and make decisions that will enhance the preschool
- Demonstrated ability and willingness to follow and enforce all required safety procedures
- Demonstrated appropriate communication/interpersonal skills that create effective working relationships with staff, parents and parishioners
- Satisfy requirements specified by the Minnesota Department of Health and Human Services (Rule 3) for Preschool Lead Teacher
- CPR and First Aid certified within 90 days of hire
- Satisfy Essential 3 requirements of Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis (complete background check, complete Virtus training and satisfy Code of Conduct)
- 4 year or 2 year Early Childhood Development degree or completed 1-2 years in a college setting preferred
