Position Summary A growing professional Tax, Accounting, and Audit advisory services firm is seeking an experienced Manager to lead client engagements and provide strategic accounting and financial advisory services to privately held businesses. This position offers the opportunity to manage client relationships, be a key mentor to other accounting professionals, and partner with leadership on a variety of complex financial initiatives. This is a stakeholder visible position!
The ideal candidate has a strong public accounting or advisory background, excellent client-facing skills, and experience leading teams while delivering high-quality financial solutions.
Responsibilities
- Manage accounting advisory engagements for privately held businesses, including financial reporting, compilations, reviews, and other consulting services.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to clients by providing guidance on accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and process improvements.
- Assist clients with strategic initiatives such as business transitions, capital transactions, and other financial projects.
- Oversee engagement planning, project timelines, staffing, and quality control.
- Review work prepared by staff and senior accountants to ensure accuracy and compliance with U.S. GAAP.
- Develop, mentor, and coach accounting professionals to support their technical and career growth.
- Build and maintain long-term client relationships while identifying opportunities to expand service offerings.
- Collaborate with professionals across multiple financial disciplines to deliver comprehensive client solutions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Active CPA (or in the progress of obtaining a licensure) is strongly preferred.
- 6+ years of experience in public accounting, accounting advisory, or financial consulting.
- Experience with middle market privately held businesses on accounting and operational matters.
- Previous experience managing and/or supervising accounting staff.
- Experience with transaction advisory, mergers and acquisitions, or business transition projects is a plus
