About This Role

The Medical Advisor is responsible for developing and implementing medical strategies for allocated brands, indications, and therapeutic areas. This involves defining medical imperatives, identifying gaps, and preparing functional plans, as well as acting as a medical representative for external and internal collaborations. The role suits a medical professional with a strong clinical background and experience in the pharmaceutical industry.

Responsibilities

• Conduct and document all medical strategy relevant activities for allocated brand/indications/therapeutic area
• Define medical imperatives and identify medical gaps
• Prepare and present medical functional plans to Area/Global and National Advisory Boards
• Organize National Advisory Boards
• Connect regularly within the INTERCONTINENTAL Organization as a representative for allocated brand/indications/therapeutic area
• Participate in relevant cross-functional collaborative tasks within the Affiliate (Clinical Development, Regulatory Affairs, CEX, Business Units, Market Access, etc.)
• Act as a strategic collaborator in and contributor to the affiliate Brand Teams, ensuring medical alignment
• Act as a lead or key contributor on urgent or important task forces (e.g., crisis management, risk management, label changes and updates, patient complaint handling, market access initiatives)
• Develop local clinical study/Evidence Generation plans
• Identify and prioritize evidence gaps
• Conduct local research activities (including Post Marketing Observational/Interventional Study, Post Approval Commitment Study, Collaborative Study, and Investigator Initiated Study) in a scientific, efficient, and compliant manner
• Serve as Local medical study lead for assigned studies through the whole process, including study concept formulation, protocol design/approval, bio statistical plan/report generation, implementation, and publication
• Establish medical and scientific knowledge base in line with medical strategy and prioritized gap identification
• Generate accurate, balanced, timely, and compliant medical materials for field medical education and internal/external communication
• Act as TA representative to review and approve promotional/non-promotional materials, regulatory materials, and public affairs materials as needed
• Establish medical and scientific knowledge management and training for AbbVie products and products in development
• Ensure medical knowledge is of high quality and communicated accurately, balanced, timely, and compliantly
• Provide medical support for and help develop and maintain professional and credible relationships with external experts and academic organizations
• Identify appropriately qualified external candidates for collaborative efforts (e.g., Collaborative Study and Investigator Initiated Study) and ensure scientific integrity
