Admissions Outreach Counselor We are searching for an experienced Admissions Outreach Counselor at our Goldsmith Campus - Westchester campus.
Primary Duties And Responsibilities PRIMARY PURPOSE: The Outreach Counselor attends regional admissions events and visits high school classrooms as a representative of the College. This position counsels prospective students regarding Otis application process and answers questions about programs. Reviews and evaluates student portfolios and credentials. This is a part-time position working primarily off site with a work schedule average of 20-30 hours per week from July through April. This position reports directly to the Director of Admissions.
CORE DUTIES And RESPONSIBILITIES
- Schedules and attends college fair events, outreach events and school visits (i.e., classroom visits in high schools and/or community colleges, college fairs, and other special community events.) Represents Otis College locally and regionally. Gives presentations on Otis College’s programs to prospective students and parents in various settings. Responsible for outreach to teachers to schedule school visits based on assigned territory.
- Reviews student artwork and credentials at portfolio day events. Offers solutions to applicant problems and answers questions regarding admissions policies and/or procedures.
- Represents Otis College at on-campus recruitment events. Assists with event preparation and set-up as needed.
Offers virtual presentations, info sessions and school visits over Zoom.
- Develops positive working relationships with faculty, staff, students, teachers, and counselors to coordinate recruitment efforts.
- Corresponds and communicates with campus constituencies, prospective students and parents, and external schools regarding admissions.
- Answers general questions related to admissions, recruitment, financial aid, transfer credit evaluation, and other areas related to enrollment by email. Assists with outreach campaigns as needed.
- Enters student data and appointment notes into the Slate CRM. Creates events and visits, logs interaction notes with students and teachers.
- Makes own travel arrangements and submits appropriate follow-up documentation/expense reports. Travels both locally, and nationally when needed. Completes event evaluations and all trip follow-up correspondence.
- May participate in special assignments or short-term projects as needed.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications REQUIRED SKILLS and EDUCATION: (Non-negotiable; minimum requirements, skills, experience, certifications)
- A bachelor’s degree (e.g. BFA, BA, BS) is required.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
- Strong public speaking skills necessary.
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Compensation Type: Hourly Wage
Salary Range: 25.85 - 30.84
