About This Role

This administrative role supports the operations of a family-owned funeral home business, working closely with the funeral director and manager. It suits a detail-oriented professional with strong organizational and communication skills who can handle a variety of office responsibilities and occasional project work.

Responsibilities

• Organize accounts payable
• Answer the phone
• Collect and summarize cash receipts
• Organize and input contracts
• Complete weekly reporting for head office on a timely basis
• Perform general office administration duties
• Assist with project work
• Update and maintain internal records by hand
• Assist with preparing presentations in the funeral home or church
• Assist as a pallbearer when requested
• Assist family and guests in the funeral home, church, or gravesite setting

Requirements

• 3 to 5 years of administrative experience
• Track record of reliability, punctuality, and good attendance
• Good calendar and time management skills
• Discretion
• Enjoy working with people
• Effective communication skills when dealing with customers and other employees
• Experience in handling cash receipts
• Must be eligible for bonding
• Valid driver
• Good communication skills
• General office administration skills
• Familiarity with Windows Office software
• Accounts Payable experience
• Notary or ability to become a notary
• Legible handwriting
• Ability to work on Saturdays, as needed
• High school diploma or equivalent (Required)

Nice to have:

• Funeral industry experience
• Passare software experience or other account software experience
