About the role

Duties

The individual selected for this position will:

  • Prepare travel orders, collect receipts and contact travel agent to make changes. Review and audit vouchers.
  • Compute, audit, and certify employee payroll (such as Time and Attendance) records. Research payroll records and make corrections to keying errors.
  • Perform personnel activities such as initiating personnel actions, requesting and returning certificates of eligibles from Office of Personnel Management, and conduct records and reference checks.

Qualifications

Basic Minimum Requirements:

Specialized Experience:

For GS-05, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-04 grade level in the Federal services.

Experience for this position includes preparing travel or miscellaneous vouchers; reviewing, and verifying auditing travel and miscellaneous vouchers; computing and auditing employee payroll in an automated environment; reviewing employee payroll reports; making adjustments to payroll due to keying errors. Experience preparing personnel actions; requesting and returning certificates of eligibles; and completing applicant reference checks.

OR

Education: 4 years of post high school education.

Note: Equivalent combinations of education and experience are qualifying for all grade levels and positions for which both education and experience are acceptable.

Advancement to positions up to GS-05: Candidates may be advanced without time restriction to positions up to the GS-05 if the position to be filled is no more than two grades above the lowest grade the employee held within the preceding 52 weeks under his or her latest nontemporary competitive appointment.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
