About the role

Duties

  • Serves as the primary timekeeper for Mid-Pacific Construction Office. Applies various pay codes for regular, overtime, travel time, holiday, night and shift differential and leave categories. Ensures time keeping documents, pay codes and cost authorities are correct.
  • Performs travel related duties for the construction office field personnel (e.g., temporary duty travel, extended travel, invitational travel). Arranges for travel, transportation and accommodations for field personnel. Provides guidance to employees on travel regulations and travel entitlements. Prepares travel authorizations and vouchers.
  • As the program coordinator on the government integrated credit card program, receives Card Holder's credit card statements and reviews purchase transactions for cost accounting codes and for propriety, validity and delegated purchase authority. Cost allocates all charges in the Federal Financial System. Prepares reports and responds to charge card inquiries and audits.
  • Provides general office support such as receives visitors, answers phone, uses various automated software programs to prepare correspondence, reports, graphs, spreadsheets, reports, input and retrieve data.

Qualifications

Selective Placement Factor: This position requires proficiency in typing 40 words per minute and proficiency in office automation software applications.

GS-05: One year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to at least the GS-04 level in the Federal Service. Applicants also qualify with 4 years of academic study above high school; OR a combination of successfully completed education and experience may be used to meet the 1-year specialized experience requirement.

Education substitution: Only education in EXCESS of the first 60 semester hours can be credited toward meeting the specialized experience requirement. One year of academic study beyond the second year is equivalent to 6 months of specialized experience. One year of full-time academic study is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours or at least 20 hours of classroom instruction per week for approximately 36 weeks in a business, secretarial or technical school. The education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. If using education to qualify, you must submit a COPY of your college transcripts.

Foreign Education: To receive credit for education completed outside the United States, applicants must show proof that the education has been submitted to a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign educational credentials and such education has been deemed at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education programs.

Definition of Specialized Experience: To meet specialized experience, your resume must describe experience that demonstrates the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities as follows:

GS-5: Experience performing office support duties which required the use of electronic automated systems to prepare, receive, review, verify and process documents following standard procedures and process, such as: experience recording and reviewing employee's time and attendance comprised of various pay codes for hours of work, leave, overtime, travel time, etc.; experience making travel arrangements for office employees, preparing travel authorizations and travel vouchers; experience reviewing, comparing and verifying specific financial information such as pay codes, funding codes, purchase transactions or similar data for accuracy, missing data, discrepancies. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
