About the role
Duties
As the Administrative Support Assistant for the Northwest District, you will:
* Assist with the development and formulation of the District Office budget for multiple accounts with various sub-activities and/or funding sources;
* Prepare, edit, and finalize correspondence for office supervisors and managers;
* Prepare travel documents (authorizations and vouchers) in the automated travel system;
*Enter and/or validate time and attendance records in the automated payroll system; and,
* Purchase supplies and equipment using simplified acquisition procedures through an established integrated charge card program.
Please note: The GS-6 grade level is a developmental level, and the incumbent will perform the above duties under direct supervision and guidance from senior Administrative personnel.
Qualifications
For the GS-6:

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: You must show that you have one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level (GS-05). Examples: Maintaining budget documents and files; resolving recurring payroll issues; ordering supplies for an office for limited dollar amounts; assisting travelers with travel arrangements; and, generating and disseminating correspondence.

EDUCATION SUBSTITUTION: Education generally not applicable for grades GS-6 and above.
For the GS-7:

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: You must show that you have one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level (GS-06). Examples: Resolving recurring budgetary issues, problems, or conditions and researching solutions for more complex issues; independently resolving complex or non-routine payroll issues; assisting travelers with travel arrangements; generating and tracking correspondence and training others on basic administrative functions.

EDUCATION SUBSTITUTION: Education generally not applicable for grades GS-6 and above.
You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement. Eligible Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade requirement in accordance with 5 CFR 300.604. If you are a current Federal employee in the General Schedule (GS) pay plan and applying for a promotion opportunity, you must have completed a minimum of 52 weeks at the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the position being filled.
