About the role
Duties
The selectee will serve as Administrative Officer in the Office of Investigation, Portland Resident Office. Typical work assignments include:
- Managing, coordinating, and administering various human resources programs; maintaining office personnel records; planning and scheduling work to be accomplished by administrative staff; and reviewing, initiating and monitoring personnel actions.
- Managing, reviewing, and coordinating procurement activities; planning, monitoring, and controlling usage of office space and facilities; maintaining accountable property records; and managing and tracking the expenditure of the office’s approved funds allocation.
- Reviewing, receiving, managing, and arranging the disposal of classified documents and materials; performing preliminary searches and inputting data into computerized databases; assisting with developing information for investigations; and adhering to established administrative and procedural guidelines.
- Advising staff of new regulations, practices and regulations which impact the administrative and support functions; preparing and developing reports; and consulting with internal and external sources.
Qualifications
GS-9: You qualify for the GS-9 level if you possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-7 level performing duties such as coordinating administrative support functions by procuring office supplies and equipment; managing property, space, records and facilities maintenance; using office automation systems and databases to track files, retrieve and/or input data, and conduct preliminary searches; and providing administrative advice to management. OR
A master's or equivalent graduate degree or two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or L.L.B. or J.D., if related. OR
A combination of graduate level education and experience. This will be calculated using your résumé and unofficial transcripts or a list of courses/course hours submitted with your application.
GS-11: You qualify for the GS-11 level if you possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-9 level performing duties such as delegating, planning, and prioritizing work assignments of the administrative staff; managing and reviewing office functions such as initiating personnel actions, identifying and prioritizing purchase requests for office supplies and equipment, establishing priorities and evaluating work performance; and providing advice and recommendations to management. OR
Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or three full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related. OR
A combination of graduate level education and experience. This will be calculated using your résumé and unofficial transcripts or a list of courses/course hours submitted with your application.
National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience)

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Time-in-Grade:
Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the Federal service.
