About the role

Duties

As an Administrative Management Specialist, you will perform the following duties:

  • Coordinate the execution of organizational administrative and financial operations including providing support to mission staff and support to managers; employee travel planning and processing; managing accountable property; managing identification and access of federal and contract staff; and managing general office business processes.
  • Conduct policy analysis; work requirements analysis; developing and implementing processes improvement; processing documentation and managing records; and coordinating with policy oversight staff.
  • Conduct acquisition management including contracts; purchase orders; credit card purchase; budget management; recurring orders; contract administration; delivery processing; contract close out; and acquisition audits.
  • Develop strategic, annual operating, and project plans.
  • Create office and project budgets, track expenses, and reconcile budgets.

EDUCATION: There is no positive education requirement for this position.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies; knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

To qualify at the ZA-3 or GS-11 level:

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: One full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the ZA-2 or GS-09 in the Federal service. Specialized experience MUST include all of the following:

  • Coordinating the execution of organizational administrative and financial operations including analyzing policy and developing and implementing business process improvements;
  • Developing acquisition documentation (specifications, statements of work, cost estimates, etc.) for Information Technology hardware, software, and support services; and
  • Tracking costs and reconciling budgets to advise management of current financial position.

OR

EDUCATION: Three (3) years of progressively higher graduate level education leading to a Ph.D, a Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree if related.

OR

COMBINATION: A combination of education and experience as described above.

Note: Only graduate education in excess of two years is qualifying for combination.
