About the role
Duties
The individual selected for this position will:
- Compute, audit, and certify employee payroll (such as Time and Attendance) records. Research payroll records and makes corrections to keying errors.
- Prepare travel orders, collect receipts and contact travel agents to make changes. Review and audit Travel Vouchers.
- Perform personnel activities such as initiating personnel actions, requesting and returning certificates of eligibles from Office of Personnel Management, and conducts records and reference checks.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualification Requirements:
To be minimally qualified for this position, applicants MUST have a typing proficiency of at least 40 words per minute with 3 or fewer errors based on a five-minute sample.
In addition, you must have experience or education listed below or a combination of both.
Generalized Experience:
For GS-04, you must have one year of general experience.
General experience is defined as progressively responsible clerical, office, or some other work that indicates the ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of this position.
Or
Education: Successfully completed 2 years of post high school education.
Or
A combination of successfully completed post high school education and general experience may be used to meet total minimum qualification requirements.
Specialized Experience
For GS-05, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-04 level.
Specialized Experience for this position includes reviewing automated payroll records and reports for accuracy; reviewing, verifying and auditing travel and miscellaneous vouchers; advising on automated systems, hardware, and software applications to support staff; reviewing, verifying and disseminating employee orientation information and forms; and establishing, filing, and maintaining administrative files.

Education: Successfully completed 4 years of post high school education.
