About the role

Job Title: Adjunct Teaching - Department of Art - Student Teaching Supervisor

Required Degree: Minimum BA in Education with teaching licensure. The required degree must be completed by the start date.

Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience teaching in public schools. Art teaching experience is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with state requirements for education licensure.
  • Prior experience with teaching assessment is preferred.

Duties/Expectations:

  • Supervising 1-4 student teachers on a semesterly basis during their Elementary and Secondary Student Teaching Placements.
  • Conducting in-class observations of class periods, followed by review sessions with student teachers 6 times throughout the semester.
  • Completing state licensure-required evaluations for student teachers’ performance, including an abbreviated formative evaluation for each visit and two full summative evaluations (one for each placement).
  • Attending departmental orientation and check-in meetings along with student teachers and mentors.
  • Providing additional mentorship via meetings with supervised student teachers as required.

This position requires the successful candidate to relocate and/or reside in Utah for the duration of their employment.
