Adjunct Faculty - Criminal Justice

About This Role

This adjunct faculty position in the Criminal Justice department at St. Louis Community College involves delivering high-quality, face-to-face instruction aligned with the college's curriculum standards. The role focuses on facilitating engaging learning experiences and supporting student success on the Forest Park campus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver course content using approved syllabi and instructional materials
• Use the college’s learning management system (Canvas) for grading and online course activities
• Assess and provide feedback on student performance
• Hold office hours for student consultation (minimum of one hour per course)
• Maintain required records and submit reports on time
• Attend required trainings and meetings, including annual adjunct training sessions

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Criminal Justice, or a master’s degree with at least 18 graduate hours in Criminal Justice, Law (JD), Psychology, Social Work, or Sociology
• Availability to teach face-to-face at least 2 days per week between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Nice to have:

• Experience with Canvas or other learning management systems
• Ability to integrate technology and innovative learning practices into instruction
