About the role
The School of Public Health at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking an hourly/part-time Adjunct Assistant Professor, Epidemiology & Biostatistics. The successful candidate will:
- Teach assigned course in Biostatistics.
- Use model methods of teaching including online and in-person engagement, problem-based learning, team projects, and discussion boards.
- Manage and oversee the learning environment, instructional activities, course materials, and online grading system.
- Provide student advisement, review program/course outcomes criteria with students; provide guidance and support student progress.
- Evaluate students through class participation, assignments, and exams.
Required Qualifications
- Doctoral Degree or Doctoral Candidate or equivalent professional degree in a discipline related to Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Statistics, or Data Science.
- Graduate-level teaching, teaching fellow or teaching assistant experience.
- Experience using online learning management systems.
- Or, a satisfactory equivalent combination of experience, education and training.
