Addiction Psychiatrist

About This Role

This role involves providing trauma-informed outpatient psychiatric care and medication management to underserved and vulnerable populations. The Addiction Psychiatrist will deliver integrated behavioral health services, supporting patients with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders, and advancing the organization's mission of providing exceptional care to all.

Responsibilities

• Provide outpatient psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and medication management for adult patients
• Deliver trauma-informed care to individuals experiencing mental illness and substance use disorders
• Manage Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), including buprenorphine and naltrexone therapies
• Collaborate closely with primary care providers, behavioral health clinicians, and interdisciplinary care teams in an integrated care setting
• Provide consultation, mentorship, and clinical guidance to psychiatric and primary care nurse practitioners
• Support outpatient behavioral health and substance use treatment programs through clinical leadership and administrative oversight as needed
• Participate in community outreach activities, health fairs, and special events throughout the year

Requirements

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry through the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology
• Unrestricted Georgia medical license or eligibility to obtain
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited Psychiatry Residency Program
• Minimum one year of experience serving disadvantaged or special-needs populations
• Experience treating co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders in a multidisciplinary setting

Nice to have:

• Certification in Addiction Psychiatry, Addiction Medicine, or demonstrated expertise with MAT
