Accounts Receivable Specialist

About This Role

This Accounts Receivable Specialist role involves taking ownership of the AR function for a well-established, forward-thinking company that is part of a wider international group. You will be at the heart of the commercial team, ensuring cash flow and smooth client relationships. This dynamic role involves working across departments, identifying trends in numbers, resolving billing queries, and contributing to the company's financial operations, with opportunities for growth as the company expands.

Responsibilities

• Create and issue client invoices accurately and on time, including complex ones
• Monitor and record incoming payments
• Reconcile AR balances and chase down discrepancies
• Manage client communications regarding outstanding invoices and payment terms
• Produce regular AR status and ageing reports
• Follow up on overdue accounts with sensible collection strategies
• Keep receivable records accurate and up to date
• Work closely with the wider finance team on smooth day-to-day operations
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
• Build strong working relationships with clients and internal stakeholders
• Ensure everything complies with relevant financial regulations and standards

Requirements

• Previous experience creating complex invoices (essential)
• Approximately 3 years' UK experience in a similar role within a medium to large organisation
• Strong analytical skills and a sharp eye for detail
• Great communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to stay calm under pressure and hit deadlines
• Proactive, problem-solving approach, happy to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to drive to Buntingford for this fully office-based role

Nice to have:

• Experience working across multiple countries, either as an entity or a branch
• Construction industry experience
