Accounting Technician, Outsourced Finance & Accounting

About This Role

This Accounting Technician role supports accurate, timely, and compliant payroll processing within the outsourced finance and accounting team. The position involves performing payroll activities across the entire pay cycle, ensuring data integrity, strong controls, and a positive client experience.

Responsibilities

• Collect, compile, and enter payroll data using appropriate software
• Update payroll records by entering changes including deductions, garnishments, and salary increases
• Process payroll by established deadlines
• Interact with client staff to gain information, documents, and data necessary to complete assigned tasks
• Communicate significant client issues to supervisor

Requirements

• High School Diploma, required
• 2+ years of customer service experience, required
• 1-3 years of payroll experience, preferred
• Experience working with tip reporting, multi-state payrolls, IRS letter responses, and garnishment calculations, preferred
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and Word, required
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Strong analytical and basic research skills
• Strong data-entry skills
• Must be detail oriented
• Solid organizational skills especially ability to meet project deadlines with a focus on details
• Ability to successfully multi-task while working independently or within a group environment
• Proven ability to work in a deadline-driven environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously
• Ability to interact effectively with people at all organizational levels of the firm
• Capability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients
