Accounting Specialist

About This Role

The Accounting Specialist will primarily manage bi-weekly payroll for a large number of employees, ensuring compliance with regulations, and will also support Accounts Receivable functions. This role suits a hands-on accounting professional with strong payroll experience who can independently manage high-volume payroll processing while also supporting AR activities.

Responsibilities

• Process bi-weekly payroll every other Tuesday
• Process employee changes received from HR, including new hires, employee status changes, and benefit changes
• Ensure compliance with payroll policies, procedures, and applicable labor laws
• Support Accounts Receivable functions
• Assist with customer account management and collections activities
• Maintain accurate customer payment records
• Partner with Accounting and Operations teams on AR-related items

Requirements

• 4+ years of payroll experience
• Experience processing payroll for 100+ employees
• Strong knowledge of payroll regulations and compliance requirements
• 3+ years of Accounts Receivable experience
• Strong communication skills and confidence interacting with employees and leadership
• Ability to work independently and speak up when issues arise

Nice to have:

• Experience with QuickBooks
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills
• College degree preferred but not required
• Accounting, payroll, or related business experience

Important Details

• Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
• Work format: Onsite full-time, may be open to hybrid schedule for exceptional candidate
• Reports to: Controller
• Systems & Software: IBS (Primary payroll and POS system), Employee Navigator (Benefits administration system)
• Cross-Functional Partnerships: Human Resources Team, Sales Team, Accounting Team, Controller
