About the role
Day to day:
The Consultant is a hands-on role responsible for performing financial and operational work for BSO’s law firm clients. Consultants work directly in clients’ day-to-day operations, including billing, bookkeeping and accounting, financial reporting, and legal practice management systems.
This role requires someone who enjoys doing the work, solving problems, and learning new systems. Consultants are expected to develop a strong understanding of their assigned clients and become increasingly independent as their knowledge and experience grow.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 2+ years of experience in billing, bookkeeping/accounting, law firm administration, legal operations, or a related field. Hands-on experience with billing, AR, AP, reconciliations, financial reporting, or other financial operations. · Experience with legal practice management, billing, or accounting software preferred, with the ability to quickly learn new platforms.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and willingness to investigate discrepancies rather than simply process transactions.
- Ability to follow established processes while developing the judgment to work more independently over time. · Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
PLUSSES
- Experience with law firm billing or accounting, trust accounting, LEDES/e-billing, payroll, legal software, and/or working with multiple clients simultaneously.
