Accounting Clerk

About This Role

The Accounting Clerk provides administrative and clerical support to the Finance Department, ensuring its smooth and efficient operation. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented individual who will report directly to the Director of Finance.

Responsibilities

• Perform data entry for invoices, vendor records, and journal entries
• Assist with filing, scanning, and organizing financial documentation
• Support accounts payable and receivable processes under the guidance of the Assistant Finance Manager or Director of Finance
• Help with basic reconciliations and preparation of financial packets or reports
• Monitor department email inboxes and respond to routine inquiries from vendors or other departments
• Prepare and maintain spreadsheets and reports as directed
• Assist with distributing and logging checks and other financial documents
• Ensure confidentiality and accuracy of financial records

Requirements

• 6 months to 1 year of clerical or accounting-related experience preferred
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Outlook)
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to handle confidential information with integrity
• Ability to sit at a computer for extended periods
• Capability to occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds
