Accounting Clerk

About This Role

The Accounting Clerk is responsible for preparing and logging daily deposits, receipting vehicle sales down payments, and balancing daily cash flow for the dealership. This role suits a hardworking and motivated individual with a high level of integrity.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and log the daily deposit and check for accuracy for the dealership
• Receipt all monies received from vehicle sales down payments, including credit cards daily
• Balance and maintain the daily cash flow of sales from service and parts and any money coming in from vehicle sales
• Process dealer trades and wholesales to be stocked in, following the process set forth by the General Manager
• Issue and track dealer plates for the sale department
• Help review and process deal folders for electronic scanning, make trade-in vehicle jackets and process payoff checks when needed
• Process and audit paperwork on dealer trades
• Scan and sort previous days service repair order (ROs) and accounting copies
• Post warranty claims payments
• Post wholesales
• Post A/P invoices and process A/P check runs
• Track titles and lien releases for vehicle inventory
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong computer aptitude, specifically with Microsoft Word and Excel
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Strong organizational skills
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
• One to three years of accounting assistant work experience
• Meet dealership requirements for employment which include background check and drug screening
• Valid driver’s license
• Minimum eighteen years of age
• Punctual, reliable, and able to commute to location
