Accounting Clerk

About This Role

An Accounting Clerk who is detail-oriented and highly organized will support daily accounting operations and work closely with project teams and company leadership to ensure accurate financial record-keeping. This role welcomes candidates with strong accounting fundamentals who are eager to learn industry-specific processes, even without prior construction experience.

Responsibilities

• Process Accounts Payable (A/P): Review invoices, match purchase orders, verify approvals, and ensure timely payment
• Manage Accounts Receivable (A/R): Prepare customer invoices, track payments, and follow up on outstanding balances
• Assist with Payroll Support: Collect timecards, verify hours, and assist the payroll team with weekly processing
• Support Month-End Close: Prepare journal entries, update ledgers, and assist with financial reports
• Vendor & Customer Communication: Respond to inquiries, provide documentation, and maintain positive relationships
• General Administrative Support: Assist with filing, data entry, and tasks as needed to support the accounting department

Requirements

• High school diploma
• 1–3 years of experience in an accounting, bookkeeping, or administrative finance role
• Strong understanding of basic accounting principles
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (Quick Books, Sage, or similar)
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
