About This Role
This full-time accounting assistant role involves supporting the accounting team with various tasks, including transaction processing, accounts payable, and warranty credits. The position suits an organized individual with basic accounting knowledge and strong attention to detail, who is ready to contribute to a family-owned company known for its customer service and employee care.
Responsibilities
- Work with the accounting team to assist with various tasks
- Organize and process transactions including data entry, sorting of documents, filing, and mailing
- Assist with accounts payable and processing of payments to vendors
- Assist with the processing of warranty credits from vendors
- Fill in gaps in other ways as necessary to keep the department running seamlessly and efficiently
- Learn the business telephone system and act as a back-up receptionist as needed
Requirements
- Basic accounting knowledge
- Understanding of accounting principles and terminology
- Entry level skill in the accounts payable and/or accounts receivable cycle/processes
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Familiarity with Excel spreadsheets for data analysis and reporting
- Familiarity with Outlook for calendar and communication
- Data entry skills and the ability to quickly and accurately input data into accounting software
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to multitask and prioritize workflows
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
