Accounting Assistant

About This Role

Joining a collaborative team, you will gain hands-on experience in accounts receivable, customer interactions, and high-volume transaction processing while supporting a business with deep roots in the community. This role is part of a supportive accounting team where responsibilities are shared and balanced based on workload.

Responsibilities

• Process high-volume accounts receivable transactions and post customer payments
• Handle daily deposits, match checks to invoices, and process pricing corrections
• Support collections efforts by responding to customer inquiries and participating in a shared phone queue
• Process accounting batches that generate journal entries and maintain accurate transaction records
• Manage a designated portfolio of accounts while collaborating with teammates to meet department goals

Requirements

• Associate degree in Accounting
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage repetitive, high-volume work accurately
• Customer service and communication skills to effectively interact with customers regarding account questions and collections

Nice to have:

• Relevant accounting, accounts receivable, or administrative experience (for candidates without a degree)
