Accounting Assistant

About This Role

The Accounting Assistant supports a busy accounting department, focusing primarily on accounts payable processing, invoice management, and general accounting support. This hybrid role suits a detail-oriented, organized, and accurate candidate comfortable in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Process and enter vendor invoices accurately and efficiently
• Review invoices for proper coding, approvals, and supporting documentation
• Perform two-way and three-way matching of invoices, purchase orders, and receiving documents
• Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and vendor inquiries
• Assist with vendor statement reconciliations and payment processing
• Maintain accurate accounts payable records and documentation
• Support the accounting team with data entry, reconciliations, and other administrative tasks
• Assist with additional accounting projects as needed

Requirements

• Previous accounts payable or accounting support experience preferred
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general accounting software
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with an accounting team
