About the role
Position Summary
The Accountant I treats internal and external customers with courtesy and sensitivity. This position assumes and completes responsibilities as assigned. The Accountant I is expected to behave in a professional manner and accepts and applies constructive criticism as needed. The Accountant prepares accurate deliverables requiring review and also relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. This position performs a variety of tasks and works under general supervision. Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment. This position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts, and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and cooperation.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
Experience
0-2 years prior experience in Healthcare or related area and knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the field. Basic computer experience with Microsoft Office products and related software required.
Performance Expectations
Demonstrates the ability to perform the department-specific competencies as listed on the Assessment and Evaluation Tool.
Work Environment
This position requires desk and computer work a majority of the day with frequent standing, walking, and reaching. The department-specific Assessment and Evaluation Tool lists the essential functions of this position.
Reporting Relationship
This position reports to Department Leadership.

Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
License/Certification:
Experience:
Minimum 2 years accounting experience in a medium to large-size company, preferably Healthcare. The candidate should also have a strong understanding of GAAP accounting concepts as well as extensive computer experience with Microsoft Office including advanced knowledge of Excel.
