About the Role:
Soccer Shots - Lake County is looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable specialist to join our team in Barrington, IL! This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in keeping our financial operations running smoothly while being part of a fun, mission-driven organization that's passionate about youth sports.
Responsibilities:
- Process and review incoming invoices, purchase orders, and payment requests accurately and on time
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve billing discrepancies
- Maintain organized accounts payable records and filing systems
- Prepare and process weekly check runs, ACH payments, and wire transfers
- Communicate with vendors and internal teams to address payment inquiries
- Assist with month-end closing procedures and financial reporting
- Monitor accounts to ensure payments are current and accounts remain in good standing
Requirements:
- 1-3 years of accounts payable or general accounting experience
- Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, SAP, or similar)
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills and comfort with spreadsheet management
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
